Guild Challenge

Jetzt haben wir schon fast September, und mir fiel plötzlich auf, dass ich mit meinem Challenge Projekt für die Gilde noch nicht mal angefangen hatte. Eine der Damen von der Gilde hat von Januar bis Juni in jedem monatlichen Newsletter eine Aufgabe gestellt, und die fertigen Projekte sollen zum Treffen im September mitgebracht werden. Ich hatte von vornherein geplant, das Projekt erst im Sommer in Angriff zu nehmen, zum einen hatte ich vorher keine Zeit, und zum anderen wollte ich erst alle Aufgaben haben und dann mit der Planung loslegen.

It is almost September, and I realized that I hadn't even started my guild challenge project yet. One of the guild members published a clue every month in the newsletter for this challenge. It started in January with the last clue in June. The projects are due at the September meeting. I had always planned to work on this over the summer, I haven't had time before, and I like to know all the clues first and then make a plan. 

The first task was to pick an art style and then add a tree, plant or some other type of foliage. I cheated a little because I came up with how I wanted to make the tree and then asked my husband what art style he thought this was. His answer was "Pop Art"... works for me. 

Als erstes sollten wir uns einen Kunststil aussuchen und dann in diesem Stil einen Baum, eine Pflanze oder zumindest Blätter gestalten. Ich habe es anders herum gemacht, ich dachte mir aus, wie ich den Baum machen wollte und fragte dann meinen Mann, für welchen Kunststil er das halten würde. Er sagte sofort "Pop Art", und damit kann ich gut leben.

Als nächstes sollten vier Kurven und ein Kreis hinzugefügt werden. Und das habe ich auch wieder sehr frei interpretiert und vier Kurven appliziert, die einen Kreis bilden. Jedenfalls taten sie das, bevor ich gequiltet habe. Jetzt ist es mehr ein Ei, aber ich behaupte immer noch, dass es mein Kreis ist. Und das ist alles, was ich bisher habe. Aber ich weiß schon, wie ich die restlichen Aufgaben umsetzen werde, ich brauche nur ein bisschen Zeit.

 

The second clue said to add four curves and a circle. I stretched this a little by adding four curves that form a circle. At least that's what they did before I quilted it. Now it might be closer to an oval but I still claim it's a circle. And this is all I have so far. But I know how to add the other four clues, I just need some time to do it.
