Empire Top

Das Empire Top ist fertig. Ich habe den Ausschnitt letztendlich doch so gemacht, wie von Burda vorgesehen, da ich fand, dass nach meiner Änderung die Proportionen nicht mehr stimmten. Da der Stoff ziemlich durchsichtig war, bin ich Christinas Beispiel gefolgt und habe zwei Tops genäht und dann miteinander verstürzt.

The Empire Top is finished. I finally decided to leave the neckline as Burda suggested, somehow the proportions looked off to me after the alteration. Since my fabric was rather sheer I followed Christina's example and made two bodices, stitched them right sides together at the neckline and flipped them.

Probemodell - der zweite Versuch

Mein zweites Probemodell ist fertig. Ich denke, jetzt kann ich mit dem Originalstoff loslegen. Allerdings bin ich mir noch nicht sicher, ob mir der veränderte Ausschnitt gefällt.

I finished my second muslin and am satisfied enough now to start with the real fabric. Although I am not quite sure yet if I like the change I made in the neckline.

Bastelarbeiten

Ich denke, ich habe jetzt alle notwendigen Änderungen vorgenommen. Der Schnitt sieht jetzt ziemlich wild aus :-) Mal sehen, wie das zweite Probemodell wird. Ich hoffe, nun passt alles.
I think I did all the necessary alterations. My pattern looks pretty wild now, I guess :-) Off to make a second muslin which I hope will fit.

Probemodell

Hier präsentiert Marcy das Probemodell. An ihr sitzt es ganz gut, an mir leider nicht ganz so. Die Brustabnäher verlaufen nicht auf den Brustpunkt zu, und der Ausschnitt steht, wie so oft bei Burda, bei mir ab, und zu tief ist er mir auch. Aber grundsätzlich finde ich das Teil süß, ich hoffe, ich bekomme es passend hin.

Marcy proudly presents the muslin. It looks pretty good on her but I still need a few alterations to make it fit my body. The darts need to be moved, and the neckline is gaping. This is a common thing with Burda patterns for me. It is also cut a little too low for my taste. But in general, I think this top is very cute, I hope I can make it fit.

Top 110 aus Burda 03/2008

Aus der März-Burda gefallen mir viele Sachen sehr gut. Als erstes will ich das Top 110 nähen, das finde ich ganz niedlich. Der Schnitt ist kopiert, die Standardänderungen sind vorgenommen, jetzt geht es ans Probemodell.

The March issue of Burda WOF is full of projects I like. I will start with top 110 which I find very cute. I already copied the pattern and did my standard alterations. Now I am off to make a muslin.
